Blossom

Media rooted in open networks.

Blossom is an open specification for storing and retrieving files on publicly accessible servers. It gives Nostr applications a shared way to work with images, video, and other binary data.

Blossom

A file, identified by its contents

Blossom addresses files by their SHA-256 hash and uses Nostr keys for identity. Its HTTP endpoints cover retrieval, uploads, and management; additional specifications describe mirroring and other capabilities.

Infrastructure other projects can build on

Blossom was developed during SEC-01, alongside Blossom Drive. Nsite uses Blossom servers to store the files of a static website: one project becoming a foundation for another.
