Mountain cohort / Spring 2027
Seven days.One shared mission.
We’re spending a week in the mountains to talk through ideas and work out what to build together. We call this dialogical development. Most of the week is for conversation, away from our devices. Back in the valley, we have 24 hours to build before Demo Day.
Follow the trailDay 01 / The valley
Assemble
We meet in the valley. We start with introductions, followed by lightning talks about our projects. After lunch, there’s time for a walk or another meal together.
Day 02 / Valley → Mountain
Establish Base
We start with a shared map of the protocols and tools we can build on. Then we leave our devices in the valley and walk up to our mountain base. Bring pen and paper. Once we’ve settled in, there’s dinner, a fire, or a sauna. No laptops.
Day 03 / The mountain
Less reception. More signal?
We have the whole day to talk, on walks and over meals, in the sauna or by the fire. Bring an idea you haven’t figured out yet. Someone else may see what you’re missing. That’s distributed cognition in practice, with pen and paper to keep track. No devices, no coding.
Day 04 / The mountain
Climb Up
We walk to the summit today. It’s our second full day on the mountain, with more time to talk through the ideas from yesterday. We’re still leaving the devices alone. There’s no need to rush back to a keyboard.
Day 05 / Mountain → Valley
Come Down
We walk back down to the valley and take a breather. Then it’s back to our laptops in the coworking room. The 24-hour build starts in the afternoon. We have until tomorrow’s demos to get something working.
Day 06 / The valley
Prepare for Demo Day
The morning is for finishing the build. Everyone demos in the afternoon, with six minutes to show what they made and two minutes to talk about it. Afterwards, we eat together.
Demo Day · 6 min show / 2 min talk
Day 07 / Return to civilization
Return to Civilization
Time to decompress, say goodbye, and head home.
